How Fellowships and Mentorships Work

Whether you participate in Resident Fellowships or you are seeking a Spiritual Mentorship Program, you will follow a discipleship pathway grounded in a Biblical worldview. Residents engage in meaningful discipleship experiences at Haven House Christian Study Center, while mentorship participants work closely with a Mentor to achieve tailored spiritual goals that foster growth in Christ.

Resident Fellowships

We value compassion, kindness, and acceptance through a Biblical worldview. At Haven House, we believe in treating others with respect and dignity, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. This principle extends to our Campus Ministry Internship, where we emphasize Discipleship experiences and provide support to YWAM Missionaries in their efforts to spread love and understanding. Additionally, our Resident Fellowships offer opportunities for participants to engage in our Spiritual Mentorship Program, fostering growth in faith and community.

Mentorships

The Spiritual Mentorship Program is crafted to enhance a student's academic endeavors while promoting growth in Christian faith, spiritual maturity, leadership, and purpose through various discipleship experiences. These mentorships cultivate a meaningful Christian community by fostering intentional relationships with mature Christ followers in our Resident Fellowships.

Who is it for?

The Spiritual Mentorship Program is for Christians ages 18–30 seeking growth in their relationship with Jesus, spiritual maturity, and calling.

Mentorship is required for Haven House Resident Fellows, but you do not need to live at Haven House to participate. Undergraduate and graduate students, young adults, and those in technical or other training programs are welcome, regardless of denomination or school.

What is its purpose?

Our goal is to encourage a faithful Christian presence in and around the Stockton University community through mentorship, discipleship, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual formation.

Haven House is developing relationships with other Christian Study Centers but currently operates its programs independently.

What is the curriculum?

Mentorships normally follow a 12-week semester. Each mentee and mentor identify a few spiritual-growth goals and meet regularly for listening, prayer, encouragement, and conversation.

Mentors receive orientation, weekly guidance, and provide brief meeting feedback. There are no required classes or textbooks. Participants may choose a book or Scripture study and are encouraged to join occasional Table Fellowship gatherings at Haven House.

How do students participate?

Students and young adults complete a simple application that includes their testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.

The program is independent and is not an official program of Stockton University or a church. YWAM missionaries John and Mary Henry provide leadership.

Mentorship is currently $10 per month after a $90 scholarship.

Resident Fellowship applicants also complete an interview. For Fall 2026, the cost is $750 per month after a $100 scholarship, including room and utilities. Food is generally not included. Fees are subject to change.

How do we evaluate the programs?

We look for growth in relationship with Jesus, Christian character, responsibility, and healthy relationships with family, church, fellow students, faculty, and others.

The goal is not simply completing a program, but developing an increasingly mature life of discipleship.

How does Haven House relate to campus ministries?

Haven House is not formally affiliated with Stockton University campus ministries but seeks to support, not compete with, Christian ministry on campus.

Christian fellowships and leaders may inquire about using Haven House for discipleship, worship, prayer, and leadership gatherings. Students involved in other ministries are welcome to participate in Mentorship, Resident Fellowship, and Table Fellowship.
